LTTA Czech Republic

The first LTTA project was attended by Czech hosts from Europe for you, z.s. From Spain and Slovenia Three youth representatives from each country, selected a few weeks in advance, arrived from Slovenia and one one accompanying person. The participants included people with limited opportunities. Teambuilding activities in isolation were not necessary, as they were replaced by natural contacts during sporting activities with domestic professionals in the field of sport, physical and mental health. During mobility, participants learned about the dangers of anabolic steroid use and healthy
alternatives that support similar goals (creatine, amino acids, garlic, triubulus terestris, etc.) welcome results of the project. Critical thinking was developed during the indoor and outdoor workshops. thinking of the participants in relation to nutrition, performance of sporting activities, abuse of anabolic steroids. Participants were often unaware that many of the world’s best professional bodybuilders had died in in their 30s and 40s as a result of chronic abuse of banned substances. Knowledge of of the cancer risk of steroid abuse was widespread. Before LTTA, participants knew only the minimum of the effects of anabolic steroids on a person’s psyche and sex life and had only a vague awareness of the legal consequences of buying, abusing and distributing anabolic steroids. These new knowledge was often surprising to participants. Participants articulated the theme of risks and legal implications of anabolic steroid abuse. Participants not only attended a workshop on this topic, but also actively exchanged experiences among themselves, including sports nutrition and healthy lifestyles. This topic proved to be very useful. Participants often overestimated the amount of intake protein needed to build muscle mass and were unaware of the risks of kidney damage. A similar approach was taken to the psychological aspects of sporting activities. It started with self-knowledge and then coping with the psychological burden. As the most limiting moment participants identified was motivation and especially maintaining it longer than the chronically mentioned three months. Participants identified a sparring partner, regularity and variety of activities as key to maintaining motivation. They agreed with the experts on the necessity of planning and rewarding oneself for each training session well done. Each participant in this highly beneficial LTTA received a YouthPass and a certificate of participation. From mobility extensive photo documentation was taken.
